I find modern charage’s tend to drag in too many side characters. Staying focused is a good option if you have a really attractive character or want to hold a certain line of thought in the narrative. While this is perhaps an extreme, in theory I don’t mind this kind of focus. It’s just mentioned that Airi goes to school. This of course, is only possible with the VN not showing any school scenes. 85% of the route only involves just the MC and Airi. The last thing I wanted to bring up was how sparse the route is of characters. The badminton scenes were easier to visualize, and it was a bit excitingly nostalgic. During the times she’s not joking, she’s quite candid.I think I enjoyed the route more having played badminton recreationally in the past. I guess it makes sense, as the same studio who did Sousei Kitan (that VN had a huge amount of presentation effects).Īt first Airi gave me headaches with her onslaught of jokes, but I came to like her. They did well to manifest the drama.Īnother thing the makers did well was their use of graphics motion and sound to show action. Yamato and the minor characters were all pretty well placed. There’s a good balance between amazing and believable.

The story also brings very little to the table (it’s a small-scale story, and they don’t bring extra elements in), which makes it feel a bit lacking as well.Įven though the buildup is very gradual and the route basic, with all the elements done correctly, the ending still manages to be a somewhat cathartic. For most of the time it was just Airi and the MC. The route felt very calm and uneventful (although that did match with the BGM).

Compared to Shino (the main heroine) who jokes out of consideration to her opponent, Airi’s boke act is a full part of her regular expression.Īiri’s route focuses on her regret and longing to play after she injures her hand from over-practice and is forced to drop the sport. She’s soft-spoken, but nontheless, that doesn’t stop her from perpetually bombarding the MC with non-sequitors, ridiculous assucations and suggestions. Airi’s the blue-haired girl who loves to play badminton (she’s a national class pro).
